Job Purpose
The Support Worker will provide high-quality care and assistance to individuals, helping them to live independently, safely, and with dignity. This role involves supporting clients with daily living activities, personal care, emotional support, and community involvement while promoting choice and independence.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
1. Personal Care & Daily Living Support
- Assist service users with personal care needs (washing, dressing, grooming, toileting).
- Support with meal preparation, feeding, and maintaining a healthy diet.
- Help service users manage medication in line with care plans.
- Provide assistance with mobility, using equipment safely if required.
2. Emotional & Social Support
- Offer companionship, encouragement, and reassurance.
- Promote independence and confidence in daily routines.
- Support participation in hobbies, activities, and community events.
- Build positive and trusting relationships with service users and families.
3. Record Keeping & Compliance
- Maintain accurate records of care and support provided.
- Follow care plans and report any changes in condition to supervisors.
- Adhere to safeguarding, confidentiality, and health & safety policies.
- Assist in risk assessments and ensure safe practices are followed.
4. Teamwork & Communication
- Work closely with colleagues, supervisors, and healthcare professionals.
- Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and supervision reviews.
- Contribute to improving quality of care and service delivery.

Qualifications & Experience
- Previous experience in care or support work (desirable but not essential).
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care (advantageous).
- Knowledge of safeguarding and health & safety practices.
- Willingness to undertake training (mandatory care certificates provided).
