Job role:

As a healthcare assistant, you will work under the supervision of registered nurses or other healthcare professionals to provide basic care and support to patients. Your responsibilities will include assisting with daily activities, monitoring patient conditions, and maintaining a clean and safe environment.

Responsibilities:

1.     Assist patients with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, toileting, and feeding, while promoting their independence and dignity.

2.     Take vital signs, such as temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rate, and report any abnormalities to the nursing staff.

3.     Help patients with mobility, including transferring them from beds to wheelchairs or assisting with walking, as needed.

4.     Serve meals and assist patients with eating, ensuring they receive proper nutrition and hydration.

5.     Provide emotional support and companionship to patients, engaging in conversation and recreational activities when appropriate.

6.     Assist healthcare professionals with medical procedures, such as wound care, catheterization, and specimen collection.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a certified nursing assistant (CNA) program or similar training is preferred.
• Previous experience in healthcare or caregiving roles is desirable but not always required.
• Compassion and empathy towards patients.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Physical stamina and strength for lifting and assisting patients.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology and procedures.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks.
• Basic computer skills for electronic health record documentation.
